Body Identified As That of City Man

A body found by Charles County Sheriff's Department on March 5 has been identified as that of Cyril K. During Jr., a 26-year-old Alexandria man, who has been missing since Jan. 8.

During's body was washed ashore along the waterfront in Charles County, Md., and found by a citizen. According to authorities, During left his home in Alexandria on the morning of Jan. 8 en route to work. He never arrived. His employer contacted the family, who then contacted police to report him missing. During's vehicle was found by Maryland State Police on Jan. 10, near the intersection of I-295 and the Capital Beltway, just before the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Officials indicated there were no signs of foul play.

Police had searched the waterfront with the assistance of the Prince George's County Police helicopter and canine units and the Metropolitan Police Harbor and D.C. Fire Patrols but did not locate During.

An autopsy is being conducted by the Maryland state medical examiner.
