<lst>Equality Fairfax is sponsoring Food and Friends' Annual Dining Out For Life fundraiser on Thursday, March 13. Five Fairfax County restaurants are among over 100 Metro-DC restaurants that will donate a portion of their proceeds from lunch or dinner on March 13. The Washington Regional Alcohol Program, a local nonprofit, is offering free cab rides on March 16 and 17, 4 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, to alcohol-impaired drivers in an annual effort to deter drunk driving. During this combined 24-hour period, area residents celebrating with alcohol may call the toll-free SoberRide phone number, 1-800-200-TAXI, and be afforded a no-cost (up to a $50 fare) safe way home. AT&T Wireless users can call #-TAXI for the same service. Local taxicab companies provide this service to residents age 21 and older who otherwise may have attempted to drive home after drinking.
