Leadership Fairfax Inc. (LFI), is seeking candidates for its two leadership programs — the Leadership Fairfax Signature Program and Emerging Leaders Institute. The 11th annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards breakfast, sponsored by Volunteer Fairfax, will feature Katherine Campbell, Executive Director of the Association of Volunteer Administrators, as keynote speaker.  The breakfast ceremony, to be held at the Hilton McLean at Tysons Corner on Wednesday, April 23, will honor volunteers, both corporate and individual, who have provided dedicated service to the Fairfax County community.

This year’s theme is “Celebrate Volunteers — the Spirit of America!” The public is invited to nominate individuals and groups who have volunteered noteworthy time, energy and expertise to meet community needs. Businesses, individuals, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, schools, and civic groups may submit nominations. The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area recently announced publication of the 2003 edition of its citizens' information guide, "Facts for Voters." The brochure lists contact information for all government representatives at the local, state and national levels. It also includes many other contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses in a compact format.

Anyone can pick up a free copy of the 16-page brochure at any Fairfax library or government center, including City and town halls. Single copies of the brochure can also be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope to the League at 4026 Hummer Road, Annandale, VA 22003.
