Having more or less finished International Baccalaureate exams, many South Lakes seniors are seeing things slowly wind down. Few upperclassmen were seen in school toward the end of last week. Most were spotted at the Reston Town Center Multiplex, in line for tickets for "The Matrix: Reloaded." Most felt that while the plot was lacking, the special effects were impressive. Keanu Reeves’ and Carrie-Anne Moss’ “acting” was less than impressive, but they looked really cool in those black suits and South Lakes students generally agree that we have to give them credit for those fight scenes.
The choral department’s Senior Recital was Tuesday, May 20, and choral students are now preparing for their June 11 concert. The South Lakes Singers, Concert Choir, Women’s Choir and Men’s Choir will perform.
The final orchestra concert of the year will be June 12. The orchestra will perform Mendelssohn’s first Piano Concerto, soloist Kristen Libero; Bach’s Piano Concerto in D minor, soloist Robert Nester; and Mozart’s third Violin Concerto, soloists Brian Turner and Ashley Davis.
