Celebrating American Indian Culture

Apache family shares heritage at Boyd School.

The Boyd School in Fairfax received special guests from Colorado last Friday. Eagle Bear and his children, Bear, 15; Smiles, 11; Delia, 8; and Amanda, 6, performed in front of the captivated audience of children and parents. Every November for the past several years, the family, which belongs to the Apache tribe, has come to The Boyd School to perform dances, tell tales and share its culture.

We come "to bring an awareness of Thanksgiving and an understanding of Native American people," said Eagle Bear.
