Police Support Team Car Show

<bt>The Herndon Police Department Citizens Support Team will play host to the 3rd Annual Car Show Sunday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Herndon Municipal Center. The gates open and registration begins at 8 a.m. for participants. Proceeds from the event benefit the support team, which provides support to the police department mainly through bike and vehicular patrols, fingerprinting, handicap parking enforcement and traffic control.

There is no admission charge for the event, which will include classic and new model cars, motorcycles, a car corral, auto flea market, music and food. An auction will be held featuring items donated by local businesses. The show is Open Field, meaning anyone can enter, and trophies will be awarded based upon participant voting. Dash plates will be provided to the first 100 registered show participants.

<sh>Occupancy Violations Meeting

<bt>The Herndon Community Association will hold a town meeting on excessive occupancy and related neighborhoods issues within the Town of Herndon. Town staff will be at the meeting to outline the town's procedures and initiatives regarding the investigation and enforcement of excessive occupancy violations and to answer any questions.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., in the Herndon Middle School auditorium, 901 Locust St.
