The following Oakton residents were named to the dean's list at Virginia Tech for the fall 2003 semester: Dustin Arendt, Ryan De Ridder, Adric Eckstein, Noon Elrayah, Ben Gatlin, Daniel Gillen, Samuel Hodapp, Kelly Irwin, Alexander Kampman, Katelyn Keefe, Jennifer Manetti, Crystal Morgan, Maureen Mulcahy, Katie Paul, Kevin Quaderer, Taryn Shannon, Adam Smith and Andrew Whittle. To qualify, students must attempt at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester.

Lauren Anne Dellinger of Vienna, class of 2004 has been named to the dean's list of Virginia Tech. The dean's list honors students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Longwood University senior Jack MacKercher of Vienna received the Outstanding Internship Award from the university's College of Business & Economics. MacKercher is majoring in computer information management systems and is graduating in May. He is a graduate of George C. Marshall High School.
