Annual Tree Planting at Bells Mill

For the third year, The Daughters of the American Revolution planted a tree at Bells Mill Elementary. Elaine Jones, a member of the DAR presided over the planting in honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day.

Jones explained to the second-graders at the school the importance of protecting trees and the environment in general.

State Delegates Jean Cryor (R-15) and Brian Feldman (D-15) were both on hand to meet the children and hand out state maps to the children. They also tried to drive in the importance of protecting the environment. “People who live in Potomac have to be the guardians of the Potomac River,” Cryor said.

“We’re the first line of defense for the Potomac River,” Feldman said.
