One thing about your community that you enjoy that you don’t think most people know about, or something important for a newcomer to know:

It’s a little town, it’s not a bedroom community. We have arts and music and organizations that really help our area residents. Newcomers should read the blurbs in the local papers about, and then attend, area activities.

Favorite restaurant:

My husband and I enjoy trying them all.

Favorite activities:

Walk, read, go to as much theater as I can squeeze into my schedule.

Other favorite things:

As far as a view, the Madeira campus has some of the most beautiful views in the area.

Favorite people in the community:

All the people who really dive into the community and are invigorated by staying involved.

A book, movie, vacation, or other experience you enjoyed:

I just got home yesterday from our beach home on the Gulf Coast; that’s got to be my favorite vacation.

My book club is currently reading "The Other Boleyn Girl." by Philippa Gregory.

Hobbies:

Reading, walking, going to theater.

Parting thoughts:

I love living in a community where the local newspaper does profiles on the neighbors. There’s a really old-fashioned quality to McLean.
