Debra L. Newcomb of Herndon and Christopher J. Kopchik of Alexandria announce their engagement.
Newcomb is a 1992 graduate of Oakton High School in Vienna. She attended George Mason University in Fairfax in 2000 and Marymount University in Arlington in 2001.
Kopchik is a 1993 graduate of St. Stephens' and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, and a 1997 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga.
The wedding ceremony takes place May 1, 2004 at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Springfield.
The Vienna Town Council presented snow removal awards on Jan. 26 to Lynn Davis, of 510 Valley Drive, S.E.; Frederick Botz, of 406 Yeonas Drive, S.W.; James Epik, of 705 Ware St., S.W.; and James Thrasher, of 700 Ware St., S.W.
Snow removal awards are handed out each winter in recognition of businesses and residents who have "done an excellent job in removing snow from their driveways and/or sidewalks, or helped others in removing snow."
