Mardi Gras Provides Theme for ACS Auction

The Alexandria Choral Society (ACS) went all out to celebrate Mardi Gras last weekend. Not only did everybody have a good time, but they raised money for the organization as well.

The upper hall of Grace Episcopal Church was transformed for ACS' Mardi Gras Silent Auction. To enter the room, guests parted a curtain of purple, green and yellow beads; they then donned a similarly colored hat. Once inside the party, they had plenty of time to peruse the auction tables, sample some of the food on the buffet table or just sit and listen to the music by the Rick Whitehead Trio.

Auction items were plentiful and diverse. Guests could bid on artwork and jewelry; health & fitness packages; tickets to concerts, plays and sporting events; books, movies and CDs; classes; gift certificates for restaurants; travel packages and baskets.
