Armand Liberati, CPA and "Of Counsel" principal at Crutchley, Marginot & Tosi of Springfield, has been appointed to a three-year term on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Joint Trial Board, a hearing board established to adjudicate alleged violations of the ethics codes and bylaws of the AICPA and state societies. The Joint Trial Board consisted of 36 members and has the authority to suspend or expel members. It is also authorized to receive and act on petitions requesting review of a decision of the Peer Review Board to terminate a firm's participation in the AICPA's practice monitoring program.

Liberati has been a CPA for 40 years. He is a member of the American, Virginia and Maryland Institutes of CPAs, has chaired the Virginia Accounting and Auditing Conference Committee, and has served on various states' professional technical committees.

Ravann Khek, an accountant at Crutchley, Marginot & Tosi of Springfield, one of the D.C.-area's larger public accounting and business consulting firms, received her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation from the Virginia Division of Professional Licensing Services. Virginia requires that applicants graduate with a four-year degree in accounting, pass all four written parts of the Certified Public Accounting exam, pass an ethics exam and demonstrate one year of experience in public accounting.

Khek, a Kingstowne resident, joined the firm in March 2001 and is a graduate of George Mason University. She is a member of the Virginia Society of Public Accountants and has experience in both public and corporate accounting.
