Junior Brian Ross, a 2001 graduate of Fairfax High School, was named to the dean's list at George Mason University for the Spring 2004 semester. The dean's list honors students who have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester. Brian is an English major with a concentration in linguistics. He is the son of Mark and Cindy Ross of Fairfax.

Stefanie Council recently received her Master's degree in pre-kindergarten -12th grade educational leadership from George Mason University.

Social Studies teacher Kelly Barr recently received his master's degree in educational leadership from George Mason University.

Richard Joyce of Fairfax has been named to the dean's list at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg for the Spring semester. To qualify, a student must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester. Richard is majoring in Political Science. He is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

Northern Virginia Community College has opened a new call center, which will provide answers to questions or contacts. Six operators will be equipped to handle and direct callers. The number is 703-323-3000, and the center's hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Kristen Nicole Segui was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 and spring 2004 semesters, achieving a 4.0, at Radford University. Segui is majoring in criminal justice, is a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and received the Home Ride of Virginia Scholarship for the 2004-05 academic year.

To qualify, students must earn a 3.5 quality point average during the semester.
