<sh>Radford Alums Invited to Ballpark

<bt>Radford University alumni in the Northern Virginia area are invited to a day at Woodbridge's Pfitzner Stadium ballpark, Sunday, Aug. 22. The Potomac Cannons take on the Kinston Indians. Pregame festivities begin in the Bullpen picnic area at 12:15 p.m., and the first pitch will be thrown at 1:30 p.m. For ticket information and reservations, contact Sandra Bond at 1-888-4U-GRAD or via e-mail at smbond@radford.edu.

<sh>NVCC Offers Courses to High-School Students

<bt>High-school and home-schooled students 16-18 may start earning college credits under Northern Virginia Community College's dual enrollment program. Applicants must have permission from the high-school principal or appropriate representative. Students interested in this program must apply to NVCC at least two weeks prior to the start of a semester and meet with a counselor before registering for classes. For more information about dual enrollment, contact the Manassas Campus Counseling Office at 703-257-6610 or the Woodbridge Campus Counseling Office at 703-878-5760. NVCC's fall semester begins Aug. 23. Tuition is $67.68 per credit for in-state students and $215.13 per credit for out-of-state students.

<sh>New In-State Tuition for Out-of-State Military Dependents

<bt>As of July 1, active-duty military dependents (spouse or children) are eligible for in-state tuition for one year while a military husband, wife or parent is stationed in the commonwealth of Virginia. Northern Virginia Community College has instituted the favorable tuition status for all eligible students. Currently, in-state tuition is $67.68 per credit, and out-of-state tuition $215.13 per credit. For more information, contact the admissions office at 703-323-3000.
