Alexandria will join hundreds of communities around the U. S. in the 21st annual celebration of National Night Out. This year's drug and crime prevention activities will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Two dozen neighborhoods will host barbecues, picnics, block parties and other activities for the whole family. The Alexandria Police Department will be represented by bike officers, members of the K-9 unit, the special operations team in their new armored personnel carrier and McGruff the crime dog.
