Police Report

The following incidents were reported by the Alexandria Police Department.

ROBBERY:

5400 blk. of Taney Ave. July 20 at 3 p.m. The victim, a 9-year-old female City resident, was approached by a teenager, described as a 13-year-old Hispanic male who was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect assaulted her and stole her bicycle. Police were called and stopped a subject nearby riding the victim's bicycle however, it was not the same suspect who had committed the assault and theft of the bicycle. This suspect, a 13-year-old male City resident, was detained, charged with Petit Larceny, and released to his parents.

2000 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. July 24 at 1:55 a.m. The victim, a 50-year-old Alexandria woman, was approached as she stood at a bus stop. The suspect grabbed her purse and fled from the area on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old, 6' and wearing a white and blue jersey and blue shorts.

4100 blk. of Duke St. July 26, between 2:25 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. The victim, a 43-year-old Fairfax County man, had pulled into a gas station and exited his cab to pump gas. Two suspects approached him. One suspect confronted him while the second suspect acted as a lookout. The first suspect threatened to stab the victim and the victim moved away from his cab. The suspect then opened the car door and removed money from the cab. Both suspects then ran off. The victim was not assaulted or injured. He provided police with descriptions of the suspects and approximately 20 minutes later, officers located both suspects. The first suspect is a 14-year-old male from Fairfax County, and the second suspect, who acted as the lookout, is a 15-year-old male from Alexandria. Both were charged with Robbery and transported to the juvenile detention facility.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

300 blk. of S. Reynolds St. July 25 at 2:45 a.m. The victim, a 35-year-old Florida man, was attacked by a group of up to 10 suspects. Initially, two men approached the victim and demanded money. Then other suspects approached and all began to punch the victim in the head. The victim fell to the ground and the suspects continued their assault. The victim managed to escape and ran to a nearby convenience store where police were called. The victim was treated at Inova Alexandria Hospital for a laceration to the face and released. The suspects are described as black males, two of them possibly juveniles. One suspect is further described as 20 -24 years old, 5'10"- 6' tall, 170-180 lbs., with his hair in cornrows and wearing a blue

tank top.

BURGLARY:

700 blk. of N. Fayette St. Between 6 p.m. July 18 and 8 a.m. July 21. Someone entered the residence without force through the rear door. Once inside, the suspect stole electronic equipment.

600 Dulany St. Between 6 p.m. July 22 and 6 a.m. July 23. Someone entered the business by undetermined means and stole electronic equipment.

4647 Duke St. July 24, between 5:56 a.m. and 6 a.m. Someone entered the business by breaking the front glass door. Once inside, the suspect stole bottles of liquor.

400 blk. of Holland Ln. July 23, between 9:25 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. Someone entered a residence by undetermined means and attempted to steal money. The victim came home and found the maintenance man inside her home standing near her purse. She questioned the suspect and he left immediately thereafter. Police responded and located the suspect. Donovan Paul Rome, a 54-year-old male and resident of 2427 Fort Drive in Fairfax County, was

charged with Burglary.

5500 blk. of N. Morgan St. Between 3:30 p.m. July 20 and 9 a.m. July 21. Stolen: 1997 Ford Expedition, sport utility, maroon.

4800 blk. of Kenmore Ave. Between 8 p.m. July 20 and 12:55 p.m.July 22/ Stolen: 1988 Toyota Camry, 4 door, black.

400 blk. of Princess St. Between 10 p.m. July 20 and 7 a.m. July 21. Stolen: 2004 Honda motorcycle, CBR100, red.

4800 blk. of W. Braddock Rd. Between 7:30 p.m. July 21 and 7:45 a.m. July 22. Stolen: 1999 Honda Civic, 2 door, black.

5500 blk. of N. Morgan St. Between 3:30 p.m. July 20 and 9 a.m. July 21. Stolen: 1997 Ford Expedition, SUV, maroon.

4800 blk. of Kenmore Ave. Between 5 p.m. July 23 and 1:15 a.m. July 24. Stolen: 1991 Toyota Camry, station wagon, grey.

100 blk. of Cameron St.July 23, between 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Stolen: 1993 Lincoln Continental, 4 door, grey.

4600 blk. of King St. Between 8 p.m. July 24 and 10 a.m. July 25. Stolen: 1996 Honda Accord, 4 door, tan.

100 blk. of Gibbon St. July 26, between 2 p.m. and 3:04 p.m. Stolen: 1995 Ford Econoline, van, white.

2600 blk. of Park Center Dr. Between 4 p.m. July 16 and 12:30 p.m. July 26. Stolen: 1996 Dodge Caravan, minivan, blue.
