Hey, Neighbor:
Welcome to the Vienna/Oakton area! You've picked a fabulous place to live! I've been a Vienna resident for 13 years and grow fonder of this area as time goes by. This is a community that cares! Being close to the major highways is a real bonus as it brings everything closer to us. The city, the country and the mountains are all a quick drive away.
Our schools are ranked at the top of the chart with wonderful staff and strong PTA involvement — a real partnership for our children. The high schools' music, drama and arts programs and their athletic teams are top notch. The school drama programs win Cappies awards!
The Vienna/Oakton area also has pools, parks and playgrounds, sports organizations and a Community Center hosting activities for all ages. Club Phoenix is housed at the Vienna Community Center for our area teens. Teens registered at Club Phoenix have a juke box, video games, a big-screen TV, pool and ping-pong, special activities and a place to hang out with their friends. Refreshments are available for purchase.
We also have fabulous community members and organizations within the Vienna/Oakton boundaries. There are a variety of religious organizations in the area or close by and dozens of volunteer opportunities for you to become involved with: The Vienna Teen Foundation, The Optimist Club, The Rotary Club, and the Northern Virginia Model Railroaders in addition to music, gardening, literacy, historical and neighborhood civic associations — just to name a few. Information is always posted in the weekly Vienna/Oakton Connection.
I feel confident that the Vienna/Oakton area will meet your needs. It's a safe place to live, and again, I welcome you to the community!
