Bells Mill Bash 2004

Nina Tavakolian didn’t need to be outdoors to have a blast at the Bells Mill Bash. A Bells Mill E.S. fifth-grader, Tavakolian outlasted all other competitors in an indoor hula hoop contest, part of the activities on Friday, June 4.

Some traditional staples of the Bells Mill Bash — a climbing wall and 30-foot shuttle among them — were casualties of storm warnings. Bash planners moved many of the event’s activities inside, but a large and enthusiastic crowd showed up for Bell Mill’s annual end-of-the-year picnic.

Children could still enjoy an outdoor moon bounce, or play a pick-up soccer game on the field behind the school. Inside, students enjoyed hula hoop and chicken dance contests, as well as face painting and temporary tattoos.
