<lst>The following incidents were reported to the West Springfield District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department.
<cal1>Assault
<cal2>Newington Forest Avenue 8100 block. A 19-year-old Lorton area man was assaulted in the Newington Forest area of Fairfax County while in his car on June 8, around 8:30 p.m. While the victim was driving in the 8100 block of Newington Forest Ave., a man walked to the driver's side of his car and struck him on his left eye with an unknown blunt object. The motorist was able to drive away to a nearby gas station to call the police. The victim was later transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for a serious injury to his eye. The suspect was described as black, between 18 and 20 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds.
