The League of Reston Artists (LRA) has announced its call for entry for the Annual Judged Photography Exhibition at the National Center Gallery of the U. S. Geological Survey, featuring works by photographers from the metropolitan-Washington, D.C. region. Three hundred dollars in award monies will be presented at the opening reception. This call for entry is limited to a maximum of two framed photographs from each photographer. The entry fee is $15 for LRA members and $20 for nonmembers. All entries must be postmarked by June 26. The call for entry form can be downloaded from the LRAÕs Web site at http://www.leagueofrestonartists.org. Send completed entry form to the LRA, P.O. Box 2513, Reston, VA 20195. Submitted works must be delivered in person to the National Center Gallery of the U. S. Geological Survey in Reston Thursday, July 1, from 9-10 a.m. Photographs must be appropriately framed for hanging per the printed framing standards on the call for entry form and suitable for display in a public building.

The Reston Triathlon is looking for volunteers to help with the event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 12. Volunteers are also needed for Saturday, Sept. 11, to help set up the swim course, transition areas at Lake Audubon boat ramp and South Lakes High School and also for packet pickup. On Sunday, the race begins at 7 a.m. Volunteers are needed for the two transition areas, post race food, run sentry, markings, bike marshal and finish line. Reston Community Center and Reston Association are co-sponsoring two cookouts this summer that will feature free hamburgers, hot dogs and music. The cookouts are scheduled for:

Reston's evening "Take A Break" Concerts are scheduled for Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., from June-August, with the concerts taking place at a different location each month. The free concerts are presented by the Reston Community Center in cooperation with MSE Productions Inc.
