<sh>Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Car

<bt>According to a Fairfax County Police report, a 68-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in the West Springfield area. On Thursday, June 17, around 9:35 a.m., Han Sik Yun, of the 8500 block of Bauer Drive in the West Springfield area, was walking across Rolling Road at the intersection with Traford Lane. A 16-year-old driver was traveling southbound on Rolling Road in a 1998 four-door Saturn, which struck Yun. She died while being transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. No charges are pending at this time. The investigation is continuing.

<sh>Laurel Hill Comment Period Extended

<bt>The Fairfax County Park Authority extended the public comment period on the Laurel Hill Park General Management Plan and Conceptual Development Plan. The extension gives citizens a chance to enter comments into the official record until close of business on Thursday, July 1. Written comments should be directed to Lynn S.
