Elden Street was limited to two lanes June 23 after a car crashed into the traffic light post at Elden Street and Carlisle. A temporary pole now stands. The driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old male of Herndon, was listed in critical condition and taken into surgery. The passenger, an 84-year-old woman of Sterling, had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both occupants were transported by helicopter to local hospitals, and are now in stable condition. The accident is under investigation and no charges have been made.
