Car show. City of Fairfax, the Fairfax Downtown Business Coalition and The Early Ford V8 Club of Northern Virginia sponsors the seventh annual antique car show at City Hall in Fairfax City. Armstrong Street will be closed between Route 123 and University Drive during this event. The show is open to all antique vehicles 25 years or older and helps promote the history of the city, the heritage of these vehicles and the business interests of the community. The event takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., rain or shine. Live music and refreshments available. Twenty trophies to be awarded to antique vehicles. Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel: "Bach and the Virtuosos - Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Busoni." Siegel will discuss and perform Bach's "Italian Concerto" as well as showpieces by Rachmaninoff, Liszt and Busoni based on specific works by Bach. 7 p.m., at the Center for the Arts at George Mason University in Fairfax. Pedals for progress. The Little River United Church of Christ, Annandale, sponsors a bicycle collection for Pedals for Progress from 12-3 p.m., in their parking lot. Pedals for Progress is a charitable organization that collects used bicycles and ships them to developing countries in Latin America, Africa and the Pacific Islands, where they are reconditioned and distributed at low cost to poor working adults. Participants are asked to bring any adult or child's bike that is in repairable condition and a denotation of at least $10 to help cover the shipping cost of each bike. Art Exhibit. The Loft Gallery features works by Marcia Toepfer in a show titled "A Day in the Country." These oil paintings and watercolors capture the peaceful surroundings of Leesburg, the mountains of New York State, English villages and European rivers. Exhibit runs through Sunday, June 6.
