Men Indicted In Murder

Grand Jury hands down three-count indictment.

On Nov. 1, an Alexandria grand jury indicted Metkel Alana, also known as Kenneth Foster, 26 of Capital Heights, Md. and Antowaun Lynch, 20, of Fairmont Heights, Md., for the murder of Musharaf Shah, 47, a pizza delivery man in Alexandria. Shah died on Sept. 16, after being shot during a robbery in Old Town Alexandria. The men were also indicted on an unrelated robbery charge.

Each defendant was charged with capital murder, robbery and firearm violations. The men face the death penalty or life in prison on the murder charge and life in prison on the robbery charge. They have both been held in the Alexandria jail since their arrests on Sept. 16 on the robbery charge.

Alexandria Commonwealth’s attorney S. Randolph Sengel announced the indictments shortly after the grand jury met.
