The City of Fairfax will begin its annual Festival of Lights and Carols on Saturday. "We start up with lunch with Santa," said City Council member Gail Lyon during a Council meeting.
A wide variety of activities is planned for Dec. 4, followed by visits with Santa on Dec. 5 and weekends through Dec. 19.
Mayor Robert Lederer touted the decorations at the Kitty Pozer Garden. "The lights will surpass anything we've done in the past," he said.
Lederer went on to praise the city's Santa. "Our Santa house is like nothing else we've done in the region. It is truly going to be a special place."
