“I Was a Teenage Zucchini” The Children’s Theatre presents at the Thomas Jefferson Community Theatre, 125 S. Old Glebe Road, Arlington. 7:30 p.m. All children in a Halloween costume earna prize. Halloween Costume parade. Barrett Elementary School children will visit Culpepper Garden Senior Center, 4435 N. Pershing Drive. Arlington, for their annual Halloween costume parade at 1:15 p.m. Entertainment and refreshments. Fee is $1; newcomers welcome. Registration not required. For more information, call 703-228-4403.

Halloween party. Dawson Terrace Senior Center will hold its annual Halloween party and costume contest at 10:45 a.m. at 2133 N. Taft St., Arlington .  Prizes awarded for most original and most colorful. No fee; newcomers welcome. For information, call 703-228-6300.

Bingo Party. Langston-Brown, 2121 N. Culpeper St. , Arlington . will celebrate Halloween with a Bingo Party at 11 a.m. Prizes and light refreshments. Cost is $2; newcomers welcome. Register by calling 703-228-4839.

<cal2>Fall Fair At The Fort. 1-8 p.m. at Fort C.F. Smith Park & Historic Site, 2411 N. 24th St. Celebrate the season with hay rides, autumn games, painting pumpkins, and watching live animal presentations, featuring some Halloween favorites like bats and owls. Face painting, movies, demonstrations, snacks and scarecrow making , you provide the clothes. $5 fee per participant, under 3 free; $20 maximum fee per family. Additional fee for concessions and scarecrow making. No reservations are required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 703-228-4747

Haunted Halloween Hike. 7:30 p.m. at Potomac Overlook Regional Park. A spooky walk amid fantasy ghouls and monsters will follow an indoor Halloween story at this popular annual event for children age 5 and older. Tickets are $5 each and must be purchased at the Potomac Overlook Regional Park Nature Center; no telephone reservations. Purchases will be limited to six tickets per person. Guests are invited to come in costumes.

Trick or Treating at Ballston Common Mall. Come in costume from 5-7 p.m. and get goodies from participating merchants. A list of participants is available at Guest Services. Fingerprinting by the Sheriff's Department, Spark the Fire Dog, face painting and a wandering clown make for a family-friendly, safe Halloween.
