Samantha Nicole Lee of Springfield has been selected by the University of Mary Washington for "Honors Admission" for the fall of 2004. Each year the University of Mary Washington offers "Honors Admission" to students who apply early and who have an outstanding high school performance record and SAT scores. Lee, a 2004 graduate of West Springfield High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David B. Lee.

Karen Elaine Murray of Kingstowne recently received the Marquis Scholarship to attend Lafayette College. Marquis scholars receive from Lafayette an annual minimum scholarship of $12,500 (totaling $50,000 over four years) or a grant in the full amount of their demonstrated need. They also receive distinctive educational benefits, including a Lafayette-funded, three-week course abroad. Karen, a graduate of Hayfield High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Murray.

Keysha Ann McKenzie of Springfield was awarded a bachelor of science degree in nursing from George Mason University in August 2004. She has accepted a job offer at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Jawuan Lynett Hall of Springfield entered the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership at Mary Baldwin College. VWIL is a four-year, 24-hour per day comprehensive leadership education program conducted holistically and relying on academic and experiential learning. Hall is the daughter of Verlene Patricia Hall.

Air Force Airman Christina A. Lietzow has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Lietzow is the daughter of Marlene and Jay Lietzow of Estates Drive in Alexandria. She is a 2000 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.
