Kyle Hoyt of Springfield recently participated in Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremony. Hoyt received a bachelor of science in civil engineering degree in civil engineering from the College of Engineering.

Andrew Luetkemeier of Springfield recently participated in Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremony. Luetkemeier received a bachelor of science in civil engineering degree in civil engineering from the College of Engineering.

Sara Malloy of Springfield recently participated in Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremony. Malloy received a bachelor of science degree in hospitality and tourism management from the Pamplin College of Business.

Allison Molan of Springfield recently participated in Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremony. Molan received a bachelor of arts degree (cum laude) in communication from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Wiley Wright of Springfield recently participated in Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremony. Wright received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Kelsey J. Carneal of Springfield was recently named to the dean’s list of distinguished students for the fall 2004 semester at Roanoke College. To qualify, students must be enrolled in at least four units during the term and earn a grade point average of at least a 3.5, with no grade lower than a C. Carneal is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Carneal Jr.

Kristin Snyder of Springfield was recently named to the President’s List for the fall 2004 semester at the University of Mary Washington. To qualify, students must attain a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Megan Elizabeth Lange of Springfield was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and was named to the dean's list for fall 2004 semester at the University of South Carolina. Both honors require at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Lange is a freshman majoring in nursing.

John Sansbury Cook of Springfield was recently named to the honors list for the fall 2004 semester at the University of Kansas. Cook, a West Springfield High School graduate, is the son of Vernon and Cheryle Sager.

Cadet Andrew Paul Gillick of Springfield was recently named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester at the U.S. Military Academy. To qualify, cadets must maintain at least a 3.0 average. Gillick, a 2002 Robert E. Lee High School graduate, is concentrating his studies in nuclear engineering and plans to graduate in 2006 from West Point and be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Air Force Cadet Ryan S. Frost of Springfield has earned honors with placement on the Commandant's and dean's lists at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Frost completed his freshman year and was selected as a squadron class representative. Frost, a 2004 graduate of West Springfield High School, is the son of Scott and Betsy Frost of Springfield.

Megan Radek of Springfield recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in October with a master of arts degree in psychology.

Elia Prats was recently named to the dean’s list for the fall 2004 semester at Denison University, Ohio. To qualify, students must maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Prats, a sophomore psychology major, is the daughter of Phyllis and Jose Prats of Springfield.

Chris Woody of Springfield returned recently to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he is a student, after spending a number of months at sea training aboard U.S. merchant vessels. Woody is the son of Fred and Susan Woody.
