Air Force Airman Devin D. Hudson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Hudson is the son of Kim Hudson of Leesburg.

The Shenandoah Valley Wine Growers Association announces the organization's 2006 and 2007 Board of Directors.

The SVWGA elected a new slate of officers at its December meeting. The SVWGA board directs the only Shenandoah Valley-wide group to focus exclusively on issues that impact wine and tourism. Member terms run for two years, and individuals are eligible to serve for a total of four years in any one position.

Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services announces the hiring of Aaron J. Hopper as division manager of children's programs and adaptive recreation. Hopper formerly served as a regional supervisor for the Fairfax County Office for Children where he developed and implemented programs for the county's School Age Child Care (SACC) program.

Hopper holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, with a focus in child development, from West Virginia University and a master's degree in psychology, with a focus in psychological and counseling services, from Marymount University. He brings more than 10 years of experience supervising licensed children's programs to Loudoun County where his responsibilities will include the County After School (CASA) program, licensed and specialty camp programs and adaptive recreation programs.

He lives with his wife and two children in South Riding.
