Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) introduces itself to Arlington through classes held at the Goodwill Job Center. NVCC, in partnership with Goodwill of Greater Washington, will offer a variety of courses to area residents and workers.

All members of the community are invited to attend one of two open house information sessions on Thursday, March 3, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or  5-7 p.m., in the Goodwill building located at 10 South Glebe Road in Arlington. Representatives from NVCC will be on hand to answer questions on registration, financial aid, available classes and other topics.

The for-credit classes are offered in subjects including business, computer literacy and health care. Instruction in English as a Second Language is also available. Brown said the curriculum serves the needs of students pursuing a degree as well as those already in the work force seeking to enhance their business management or employment skills.

The Goodwill Job Center serves as a temporary location until a site is found for the creation of a permanent Arlington Center for NVCC. Classes will begin on March 14. For details on registration and additional information, call (703) 409-4057.

Spanish Conversation Through Film Study. Must have ability to understand and speak basic Spanish. View selected films from Latin America and Spain, with English subtitles, and practice Spanish conversational skills in follow-up discussions. Power Presentation for government administrative
