When the Pfaff truck roared into town last week, there were plenty of people to greet it — that is, plenty of sewers and SunSewVac customers.
For four hours, Pfaff demonstrators showed off the GrandQuilter, Performance and Quilt Expression machines inside the Pfaff truck parked outside of SunSewVac. Inside the store, Robert and Mary Hines had snacks for visitors.
Joshua Daly, tour manager, said that the Pfaff truck will be visiting 108 locations from Vancouver, B.C. to San Diego, Calif., and across the states. Inside the truck are 10 demonstration tables, a quilting frame and laptop sewing machine.
The first 50 visitors received a free gift and all visitors were entered into the drawing for a ClassicStyle Quilt and a Horn cabinet. Winning that prize was Carol Bryant, a regular SunSewVac customer. Cathy Hanratty, another customer, pondered whether to purchase a GrandQuilter. A member of Mount Vernon Quilts Unlimited, she meets regularly with a group of women to quilt.
