Art Auction To Benefit Kenyans

On March 13, Vienna-area residents will have the chance to buy artwork from Kenyan street children.

The Streetwise Program gives young men from Nairobi, Kenya, a chance to create works of art. The art had been part of a traveling exhibition across the United States. Now the show is over, and some of the work will be for sale. The proceeds from the sale will be sent back to the Streetwise Program to help other young men.

The works will be on display at the Vienna Art Society, 115 Pleasant St. N.W., until March 30. The silent auction is scheduled for Sunday, March 13, from 2-5 p.m. At that time, the society will also present awards in a judged exhibition of Fairfax County middle- and high-school students.
