CVHS Takes Part in Shakespeare Fest

Students primarily in their second year of study with Theatre Centreville performed "Macbeth" at the Folger Theater in Washington, D.C., during the 25th Annual Emily Jordan Folger Secondary School Shakespeare Festival.

This festival is the national model and home site for the Folger Library Shakespeare Education and Festivals Project.

Cast members were Kelly Thompson, Natalie Carneal, Tande Berry, Alison Robinson, Rachel Licklider, Michelle Clark, Lanna Nguyen, Margaret Boatner, Grant Diamond, Charlie Hall, Doug Watkins, Ashley Whitehead, Ali Lillich, Jamie Reichlen, Henry Ezeobi, Courtney Jones, Maria Hughes, Kevin Carroll, Charlie Schneider, Kevin Painter, Andrew Kieffer, Phil Allison, Justin Kenny, Sean Dennis and Maysa Elian.

Eight schools perform each day. At the conclusion of each day's festival, expert commentators give out special recognitions and awards for exceptional effort and talent. Five of Theatre Centreville's students received such awards.

Doug Watkins and Ashley Whitehead (Macbeth and Lady Macbeth) received the "Oozing with Evil" award. Natalie Carneal (Seyton) received the "Angel of Death" award. Grant Diamond (King Duncan) received the "Command of the Stage" award and Jamie Reichlen (Porter) received the "Here's Mud in Your Eye" award. Congratulations to the entire Macbeth cast!
