Creative Home Gallery is a new gallery located in the offices of National Realty, located at 2100 Reston Ave., Suite 110, at the intersection of Reston Avenue and South Lakes Drive in Reston. Sharp focus romantic artist David Bottini works from his favorite sites along the Potomac River, the arid, high desert of New Mexico and his native central Pennsylvania. Bottini will exhibit recent paintings during the month of March at Creative Home Gallery. Before dedicating his full time to his studio work, Bottini earned the title of "Master Teacher" while Visual Art Department chair at the Madeira School in McLean. In celebration of National Youth Art Month, young artists from local elementary schools will be displaying their work at the Worldgate Centre throughout March. These aspiring artists‚ works include original art designs using various art mediums: printmaking, watercolor, charcoal drawings, calligraphy and clay pottery. Seventy-five young artists from eight local elementary schools are participating.
On Tuesday, March 29, the Council for the Arts of Herndon will host a reception, which is free and open to the public, for all the young participants and their families and friends, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Worldgate Shopping Centre, Herndon.

During the month of March, Andrew Daniel will be exhibiting paintings at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Reston. Daniel creates abstract paintings which are influenced by fabric patterns and simple geometry. His abstract style uses bright uplifting colors and bold shapes to create dynamic cheerful compositions. The artist will be visiting from Northern California for the show’s reception. Daniel graduated from the Fine Arts Program at Humboldt State University in California. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Reston is located at 1625 Wiehle Ave. Daniel’s work will be on display from March 6-30. All are invited to attend this event.
Cape Cod Impressions and More: A Photography Exhibition by Martin Sittek. Chance impressions are a funny thing. A glimpse of a landscape can be forgotten in an instant or it can transform an entire life. Local photographer Martin Sittek examines fleeting images that haunt the mind in his exhibition, "Cape Cod Impressions and More," which will be on display from March 1-31, at the Reston Community Center, Hunters
Woods. The show features black and white images of Cape Cod, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and the Catoctin Mountains that were taken almost accidentally but have proven to be Sittek's favorites. The drama and variety of the American landscape inspired Sittek, a business student
and native of the Czech Republic, to take up photography. Celebrate the magical moment when a child's imagination takes flight at Chrysalis, a special exhibition by Reston elementary schools in honor of Youth Art Month, which will be on display at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery at the Reston Community Center, Lake Anne from March 1 to April 3. This exhibition spotlights the emergence of a new generation
of talented artists. Art teachers from the eight Reston elementary schools have selected work from a variety of
emerging artists to be displayed in the gallery. The eight elementary schools are Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, Dogwood, Hunters Woods, Forest Edge, Lake Anne, Sunrise Valley and Terraset.
Youth Art Month is an annual observance celebrated since 1961. It emphasizes the value of art education and encourages support for quality school art programs. Gallery West, the member-operated fine art gallery at 205 South Union Street in Old Town Alexandria, announced an all-member show in the Front Gallery until Monday, April 4, appearing simultaneously with Elsa Gebreyesus’ solo show in the Rear Gallery. Reston Community Center can help Reston residents achieve citizenship. On Thursday nights, from 7-9 p.m., March 24-May 19, an RCC-sponsored citizenship preparation class will be held at Reston Interfaith. The class will cover American history and civics, and the Immigration and Naturalization (INS) interview and test preparation. Participants must be able to read, write and speak English. This course is targeted at persons age 16 and older. The course fee for people who live or work in Reston is $15, and $23 for all others. The Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE), in collaboration with the Market Street Bar and Grill at the Reston Hyatt, will present an exhibition featuring Robert Heier. Heier’s digitally enhanced and abstracted photographic images are based on his explorations of the mystical, haunted back streets of historic Western Europe.
