To celebrate National Poetry Month, Lynbrook Elementary in Springfield hosted a "poetry café" inside its library on Thursday, April 28. Students in grades K-6 were encouraged to bring original poems or their favorite poems written by others, and share them at the microphone. The library was decorated in a folk style, and students were encouraged to snap their fingers rather than clap in appreciation of readings, in true "beat" style.
