Laura Strickman of Burke spent the summer working with Amherst College assistant professor of computer science Scott F. Kaplan on a project investigating how buffer memory management interacts with cluster computer scheduling. Strickman and recent graduate Xin Zheng are creating a simulator for testing of possible scheduling algorithms as well as assisting with real-system implementations for more thorough evaluations. Strickman is the daughter of Dr. Mark S. and Jenny L. Strickman.
Denver Davis earned dean's list honors for the spring 2005 semester at Lynchburg College, prior to graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in history. Davis, a 2001 graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary School, is the son of Paul Davis of Weems and Mila Moore of Burke.
