Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce presented service awards for 2005. Winners include All Star Movers (Billy Thompson, owner) for Business of the Year; Carole Wolfand, Vienna Paint & Decorating for Business Person of the Year; Katherine Hutt, Nautilus Communications for Entrepreneur of the Year; Russell Brannan, United Stor-All for New Member of the Year; Stacey Capra, organizer of the Vienna Relay for Life for Citizen of the Year; Optimist Club of Vienna for Non-Profit of the Year; Julian Johnson and D.H. Scarborough, Johnson & Scarborough CPAs for Lifetime Service Award.
“Driving Out Poverty” was the theme as more than 50 golfers from the Washington, D.C. business community raised over $30,000 in the “X-Out Poverty Classic” at Westwood Golf and Country Club in Vienna on Monday, Sept. 19. The tournament benefited Five Talents International, a Vienna-based nonprofit organization that empowers the poor by promoting innovative savings and micro credit programs along with business training and spiritual development.
