Happy Hunting for Easter

Local churches observe Holy Week, celebrate Easter.

Potomac churches celebrated Easter April 16 with surmise and resurrection services followed by community events like Easter egg hunts for children.

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church had four masses on Sunday in addition to Good Friday prayers April 14 and a special "Lighting of the Fire" service April 15.

The Seven Locks Baptist Church and Korean Baptist Church on Seven Locks Road — next-door neighbors — each invited children from the other church to participate in mid-day Easter egg hunts. Children at the Korean church lingered playing touch football all afternoon.

Just down the road, parents watched as dozens of children collected eggs — some with candy and some empty — in a large hunt at Geneva Presbyterian Church.
