Getting to Know...

Peter Fay

Rising high school senior Peter Fay recently completed a summer internship in Dranesville District Supervisor Joan DuBois' office. While there he worked on a variety of projects including updating constituent and homeowner associations databases.

Number of years in the community. I have lived here all of my life, which is 17 years.

Family. My father Kevin Fay is a lobbyist and my mother Nancy Fay works around the house. I have two brothers and one sister (Lindsey, 23; Ryan, 22; and Colin, 18). I am the youngest out of us all.

School. I go to Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington and I'm going to be a senior in this upcoming year.

Achievements. I was recently inducted into the National Honor Society and was a part of the People to People program that sends student ambassadors overseas.

Activities/interests/hobbies. Golf, football, video games.

Favorite local restaurant or place in the community. McLean Family Restaurant for breakfast, and Rocco's for dinner.

What are your community concerns? What are some ideas you have on ways to improve your community? I don't really have any community concerns other than transportation and traffic.

What inspired you to intern in the Supervisor's office? I was inspired to intern in the supervisor's office by my brother Ryan who had interned in the office a couple of years ago.

What do you want to be when you "grow up?" I haven't really decided what I want to be –– I might be an accountant or some kind of engineer.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Graduated with a nice job.

Personal goals? Right now a personal goal is to be accepted into UVA.
