The Burke Centre Conservancy had its annual Chanukah celebration Sunday, Dec. 10. Children came to the Commons Community Center, at 5701 Roberts Road, to participate in Jewish Chanukah traditions with their families. Glenn Sherman, president of Congregation Adat Reyim in Springfield, and his wife, Nancy, showed the children how to play dreidel and light menorahs. The Shermans led the group in Jewish prayer, and quizzed them on their knowledge of Jewish history and tradition.
