Little Falls Garden Club Spreads Holiday Cheer

Winter may not be prime-time for gardening, but the Little Falls Garden Club brightened the Potomac area with holiday cheer through several recent projects.

Mary Grace Day of the Little Falls Garden Club hosted a party on Dec. 10 in which club members donated more than $1,800 worth of gift cards to be given to needy families as part of a program headed by Carol Smith.

Club member Livi Henderson organized the Garden Therapy Program, held at Potomac Community Center on Dec. 12, in which community members with mental or physical disabilities make holiday decorations for their homes.

Little Falls Garden Club also decorates several area landmarks during the holiday season each year, including the gazebo in Potomac Village, Great Falls Tavern, and Strathmore Hall. This year, Susan Wisor was responsible for the gazebo decorations, while Helen Cooper led the decoration of the Tavern, and Deneen Wilson was the chair of the Strathmore decoration project.
