Facilitators. The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Study Circles Program is seeking individuals interested in becoming facilitators for helping school communities address barriers regarding student achievement and parent involvement. Study Circles is a dialogue and action program that works with school communities to address barriers to student achievement and parent involvement, including those based on race and ethnicity. Facilitator training will be provided from 7-8:30 p.m. at the MCPS Carver Educational Services Center auditorium, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville. Montgomery County’s East County Citizens Advisory Board has its next meeting on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:15 p.m. at Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring. The meeting was originally scheduled for July 5. 240-777-8400.
<b>Thursday/July 13</b>
Public Meeting. Mongtomery County Planning Board offers a public hearing on the Intercounty Connector at 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring and testimony will be strictly limited to two hours. Copies of the staff recommendations to the Planning Board will be available by July 3 online at www.mcparkandplanning.org. After receiving public testimony and hearing recommendations from the staff, the Board will deliberate at a later worksession and form its final recommendations to transmit to the Maryland Department of Transportation. Those who intend to speak at the public hearing are encouraged to sign up in advance and can do so by calling 301-495-4600.
