Fun for the Fourth

The sun was out in full force as about 3,000 people came to the Vienna Community Center to celebrate the nation's independence and enjoy a children's carnival with games, moon bounces, shows, slides and rides. Revellers shopped with vendors ranging from purveyors of photography and tie-dye T-shirts to sellers of rocks and minerals. Participants relaxed in the shade with food from Hard Times Café or the American Legion's grill.

Providing the summertime sounds for the festival was B2B, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

Despite earlier rain, approximately 10,000 spectators spread out over every available surface around Waters Field to watch the festival end with a bang when the fireworks began to light up the sky at 9:15 p.m.
