Tony H. Dawood, P.E., has joined the management team of Bowman Consulting's Leesburg office.

Dawood brings more than 23 years experience with the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority in water and wastewater engineering and planning. He has a B.S. in environmental engineering from Pennsylvania State University and he is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Greg Davidson, a mortgage consultant with Leesburg-based Severn Mortgage recently completed his certification requirements to receive his credentials as a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS). A CMPS is recognized as an expert in the area of mortgage planning, cash flow management and real estate equity management.

At the annual Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) awards, the "Our Promise" campaign, developed and executed by The Bomstein Agency on behalf of Del Webb, the division of Pulte Homes that builds active-adult communities, was recognized as Best Print Advertising for an active-adult community.

"Our Promise" was designed for four Del Webb communities including Potomac Green community in Ashburn. The campaign highlights the desire for a sense of community shared by individuals in the active-adult market.

Southwest Airlines is beginning service at Washington Dulles International Airport in this fall. Southwest announced its fares and schedules Thursday, July 13. Dulles will be SouthwestÕs 63rd destination systemwide. Southwest operates more than 3,000 daily nonstop departures and has more almost 32,000 employees.

Potomac Bank of Virginia recently broke ground on its fifth financial center in Northern Virginia and first in Loudoun County. The new 5,000-square-foot branch will be located at 19460 Golf Vista Plaza off of Riverside Parkway in the Lansdowne community. Potomac Bank will use 2,500 square feet of the 5,000-square-foot building, with the remaining half of the building to be leased to a third party tenant.

A Better Way to Fitness LLC is teaming up with the Play Ôn Around Gym in Leesburg to offer a total body exercise class, which will provide parents an opportunity to workout without leaving their children behind. Each 45-minute Dance ÔN Play class includes cardio segments accompanied by childrenÕs music with intervals of strength training, using resistance tubing and body weight.

Van Metre Companies broke ground for the Faulkner Parkway Extension in the Broadlands community Monday, July 10. When completed by the end of the year, the four-lane divided roadway will connect Claiborne Parkway and Ashburn Road. Van Metre Companies is funding the entire $2.4 million road project.

Participating in the groundbreaking ceremony was Supervisor Stephen J. Snow (R-Dulles), Larry Beerman, Dulles District representative of the Loudoun County Planning Commission, Albert G. "Beau" Van Metre Jr., vice chairman of the Van Metre Companies; Roy Barnett, group president of acquisition, planning, and development for the Van Metre Companies, and Andrew Garrich, vice president of land development for the Van Metre Companies.
