Man Indicted for Fair Oaks Burglary

The case against an Ashburn man accused of breaking into a Fair Oaks home is moving forward in the legal system. He is Patrick Lawson, 37, of 47488 Regal Wood Drive in Loudoun County.

Fairfax County police say that, on May 4, around 10:30 a.m., a woman heard knocking at her front door in the 3200 block of Cobb Hill Lane in Fair Oaks. Then the doorbell rang several times and she heard a loud noise.

Police say a man threw a rock through a window and broke into the house. But when the woman saw the intruder at the top of her staircase, she shouted at him and he fled. However, police arrested him shortly afterward, not far from the house, identified him as Lawson and charged him with burglary.

He appeared last Tuesday, July 11, in General District Court and, at that time, Judge Robert Smith certified the charge against him to the grand jury. Then this Monday, July 17, the grand jury indicted Lawson. He's scheduled for a trial, Sept. 11, in Circuit Court.
