Potomac-Area Libraries

Each library keeps its own schedule of programs throughout the year, some of which celebrate cultural diversity, such as the Cinco de Mayo Program in May and the Native American Heritage Month events in November. In February, area libraries celebrate "Love Your Libraries" Month and in April, the librarians invite children's book authors and illustrators to come speak for children. In both the fall and spring, there are six-week series of events for infants and 2-year-olds. In the summer, local libraries host the Summer Reading Club, when children use a game board to keep track of the books they read and win prizes.
