Springfield Super Saturday presents "Walking with Jesus" on Saturday, June 17 from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., for ages 4 - 12. Located at Springfield Church of Christ, 7512 Old Keene Mill Road. The Shalem Institute is offering free monthly prayer opportunities in Fairfax. Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, located at 8336 Carrleigh Parkway in Springfield, supports a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) program on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are 9:30-11 a.m., at the church. All mothers and children are welcome. The program provides mothers an opportunity to get to know other mothers through discussions and craft activities. On Saturday, April 22, the Women's Ministry group at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and School in Springfield presented a 'Treasures in Heaven' luncheon and silent auction. The luncheon featured special guest Marni Maree, a watercolor artist from Springfield. Over 150 people participated in the fund-raising event, with over $2,200 donated to the Village of Hope, a charity organization in Ganthier, Haiti. Funds were also raised to support the mission activities of the Holy Comforters, a group dedicated to sewing quilts for global distribution by Lutheran World Relief.
