Vienna resident Jean Waddelove O'Neill was awarded her juris doctor degree from Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Mich. Husband Kevin received the same degree in a May 14 ceremony. Their son Thomas arrived in March, just in time to graduate with them. Jean graduated from Marshall High School in 1998.

Christopher Byrne of Vienna, a 2002 James Madison High School graduate, is a rising senior at Lynn University in Boca, Florida. He is an honors student awarded a yearly scholarship. He was just elected president of his fraternity, Alpha Phi Delta, and is presently studying International Marketing and Business at the American College of Dublin in Ireland on a Study Abroad Program.

Jennifer Ann Durm, daughter of William and Mary Durm of Vienna, recently graduated from Lynchburg College. Durm received a B.S. in health promotion. She is a graduate of Langley High School.

The following Vienna residents graduated from the College of Charleston during the May commencement ceremony: Wesley James Evans, Dana B. Hughlett, Drew N. Miller and Brian P. Beatty.

Lindsay Hochman, the daughter of Kathy and Joel Hochman of Oakton and a 2003 graduate of James Madison High School, has been named to the dean's list at the University of Virginia for the spring semester of 2006. She has completed her third year in the School of Architecture.

Karen McNamara of Vienna, a graduate student studying history and social sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences' School of Education at Virginia Tech, has received the Meritorious New Teacher Candidate award. Meritorious New Teacher Candidate award recipients are recognized by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Consortium as exceptionally well-prepared and high-performing new teachers. Award winners also demonstrate exemplary levels of performance in content knowledge and verbal skills.

Kristin M. Wheeler of Vienna, a 2002 graduate of George C. Marshall High School, earned a bachelor of social work degree, magna cum laude, from James Madison University during recent commencement exercises.

Fredy Huezo of Vienna received an Associate degree in criminal Justice from the College of Business at the Providence, R.I. campus of Johnson & Wales University.

Caitlin Ruth Ryus of Vienna, daughter of Peter Ryus, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in psychology from Bryn Mawr College.

Elizabeth Anne Hanson of Vienna, daughter of Nancy and Craig Hanson, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in classical and Near Eastern Archaeology and French from Bryn Mawr College. She is a graduate of Langley High School.

Marissa Niemeyer of Vienna was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg. The dean's list recognizes students who have achieved superior quality in their academic work.

Jeff Fox, son of Cynthia and Michael Fox of Oakton, graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, Penn. on May 20 with a Bachelor of Science in computer science. Fox is a 2002 graduate of Trinity Christian School.

Julie Fox, daughter of Cynthia and Michael Fox of Oakton, was named to the dean's list with high distinction at Grove City College in Grove City, Penn. for the spring semester. To qualify for high distinction, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.85 out of a possible 4. Fox, an accounting major is a 2004 graduate of Trinity Christian School.
