The Campus at Sunrise Sold

CarrAmerica sold the 253,800-square-foot The Campus at Sunrise for $51.9 million, or about $204 per square foot, to BPG Properties Ltd. The office complex, which was built between 1987 and 1989, is comprised of three buildings: 11130 Sunrise Valley Drive, 11180 Sunrise Valley Drive, and 11190 Sunrise Valley Drive.

CarrAmerica, which will continue to be the property manager at the site, bought the property in 1996 for $42.6 million and had invested more than $8 million in improvements.

Meet the Candidates

As a community service to Reston Association members, the Alliance of Reston Clusters and Homeowners will present a Meet the RA Board Candidates Forum on Thursday, March 9 at the Gallery of the Lake Anne RCC. There will be a member and guest social beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. and all seven Candidates for the RA Board have been invited to speak. The meeting will be complementary to the other candidate forums scheduled before the election. Candidates will have an opportunity to present their views on questions and issues of specific interest to ARCH Members. All interested people are welcome to attend and submit questions to the candidates.

Correction

In the Feb. 22 Reston Connection, the article “2006 Board of Directors Election” incorrectly stated the number of vacancies on the board. There are three vacancies on the Reston Association board that will be decided.

Clarification

In the Feb.22 Reston Connection, the article “ARCH Hopes for RA Sweep” called three candidates on the board of the Alliance of Reston Clusters and Homeowners running for the Reston Association Board an "unofficial slate."

The candidates — Richard Chew, George Kain and Gerald Volloy — have not been endorsed by ARCH. As a bipartisan organization, ARCH does not endorse candidates.
