Democratic Senate Hopefuls Campaign in Arlington

The two Democrats hoping to unseat Sen. George Allen campaigned in Arlington during the past two weeks. Jim Webb (top), former secretary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan, spoke to more than 250 supporters in Courthouse Plaza. Technology executive Harris Miller held a press conference at a gas station in Rosslyn, calling on Congress to reform the nation's energy laws, invest in alternative forms of energy and consider charging a windfall profits tax on oil companies. Sen. Allen is expected to hold a campaign event in the county later in the month, spokesman Bill Bozin said.
